Specifications of the Quantex Pump
Packaging Options
Standalone Pump - in this case the pump attaches in a line between the source and the output. A motor engages with the central rotor to pump fluid. The alignment of the pump inlet and outlet can be varied to suit the application.
Pump Integrated into Packaging - for most dispensing applications, the pump can be integrated with the packaging container, either internally or externally. If it is inside the container, fluid is brought out through the base of the pump. In this configuration the pump is hidden and cannot be tampered with.
If the pump is outside the container, its rotation can be used to show that the pump is functioning - particularly useful if the fluid is being dispensed into a closed container.
We work with packaging specialists to develop cost effective packaging solutions. We can provide bag-in-box and bag-in-bottle packaging for airtight dispensing.
Sizes and Flow Rates
We have worked on applications ranging from 0.1ml/hour (<3nl/s) for medical applications, and up to 20ml/s for dispensing water. The lowest flow rate uses a pump with a 14mm diameter and 22mm long. The highest of these flow rates requires a pump with a 20mm diameter and 35mm long. Higher rates are possible with appropriately configured pumps.
Reversible Flow
The pump is reversible, which allows some extra functions to be performed.
Drip prevention If the pump is reversed at the end of dispense operation, it will pull back the last part of the fluid into the pump. This is useful for preventing drying of materials that could otherwise block the outlet, such as soap and sauces.
Precision filling The pump can be used to fill the fluid container. This can be useful if the volumes are not high or conventional filling methods cannot be used, such as if the fluid needs to be kept free of air. For microchemistry or diagnostic testing, the pump can be used to fill mixing chambers and then empty them after a set time.
